Despite early setback, 2008 to kick ass

I think 2008 is gonna be a great year. A lot of people I know have been making big advancements lately - moves, marriages, and promotions to name a few. Why should these happy feelings slow down in 2008? So with this optimism in my mind, I was surprised last night to discover a large piece of glass in my toe just a few minutes into the year. As I watched the blood pooling under my foot, I was amazed at how little it hurt - until I remembered all the vodka and champagne I had consumed during the few hours prior. Fortunately, Majax and Regan were able to help me get the bleeding under control and I was even able to win a $5 poker game after this and drive home.

When I woke up this morning, I removed the bandage and the blood started flowing again. I'm pretty sure it was because the bandage had stuck to the piece of skin covering the wound, and by removing it I destroyed the clot. After I made the sink, bathmat, and bathtub red with blood, I found some gauze and managed to stop the bleeding long enough to head over to the Saint Francis Memorial Hospital ER. There, they took x-rays, determined there was no glass left in my toe, and cleaned and dressed the wound. I didn't even need stitches!

Other than this unfortunate event, 2008 has been pretty good so far. I hope it's a great year for my blog reader(s) as well!

Kiss my foot.

I think the bandage makes your foot look a little better. Kind of like how the Elephant Man always wore a hood. Same thing.
